A Unnamed Renaissance Styled Painting Of A Gentleman
Size 75cm long x 106cm high.
Here we have a confusing portrait, if any of you have ever watched fake or fortune you will know where this is going.
There is clearly two painters at work here. The original layer, his face is exquisitely painted. You can certainly see the check in the mans eyes as he seems to follows you around the room. The lower half of the painting has been redone by someone with not quit the same gusto and therefore the paint is much thicker and clumpier. Subsequently the painting is now unsigned but may have a signature under the paint somewhere.
The canvas itself has a rimu frame dating it to around the 1960s, though the frame itself has little to no age.
